Some brief overview of this book

Now that Ted was back in town, Dianna had been thinking up ways to edge him back into her life. She regretted not marrying him all those years ago when hed first asked her and then turning around and marrying his friend instead. But now that he was back and she was on her own again, she wasnt going to let him get away for a second time.

This was why when she arrived at the library/art gallery on the wrong Friday and a strange man that she had never seen there previously pushed her down the stairs and told not to come back again, the first person she thought of running to was Ted, who lived close by.

Ted was surprised to see her, but once shed told him what had happened and he saw her grazed knees, he agreed to go back there with her and also call the police.

The police told them to wait outside while they stormed the building, but when they found nobody inside and they began to search the adjoining offices, they told them to come inside so that their first aid man could attend to the abrasions on Dianas knees.

Taking out his First Aid kit, he told Dianna to sit on a bench and place her feet on the chair that he put in front of her, while he cleaned the wounds and taped a soft cotton pad to each knee.

Dianna enjoyed all the attention and when Ted told her to relax while he fetched her a cup of tea, she leaned back onto the large cupboard behind her and thought about how strangely it had all planned out for her. She was just reminiscing and thinking up what she should do next, when she suddenly heard someone sneeze inside the large cupboard behind her.

She beckoned for Ted to come over and whispered about what shed just heard. Then Ted and a policeman quickly moved her away, so they could they opened the cupboard door. Inside, they found two men cowering at the back of the cupboard, but when Dianna saw them, she told them that they were not the culprits shed seen earlier, who had pushed her down the stairs.

With this the search continued and pretty quickly the police discovered a sliding panel at the back of a second large cupboard. One policeman walked down the sloping passage that led down to a lower level and there he discovered two more men, who were calmly packing paintings and sculptures into a truck and when Dianna saw them, she identified them as the men shed seen earlier.

Two weeks later, Ted who suspected by now that Dianna was trying her best to get him back into his life, invited her to a braai at his house that evening. He felt strongly that he needed to show her that his life had changed somewhat and that they could never be together again..

When Dianna arrived at Teds house, Mario, a neighbour, opened the door and led her into the kitchen, where Ted and another man, who were wearing matching aprons, were busy putting the finishing touches to the meal.

Shortly after this, Ted revealed that he was with Douglas now and that the two of them had finally come out of the closet as a couple and admitted they were gay.

This was also when Mario, who was just as surprised as Dianna was, began to fuss over her, to try and ease her pain.

In the end, Mario also walked her home and when she invited him inside for a coffee, he admitted that he was just as surprised as she was, about Ted and Douglas being a couple. Then to soften the blow, he told her that hed really like to see her again if she was agreeable.

A few words about book author

I began my library career at the Jhb. public library, and while I worked there part time, I also completed my Library Exams with the SALA. Then I was headhunted by Ekom, as Id specialized in information retrieval and they needed someone to obtain current information on various projects for their engineers. Later I moved to Control Data, where I learned all about storing such information on their large computers.

All the while, I also taught ballet, modern and Spanish, dancing in my sparthe stairs and told not to come back again, the first person she thought of running to was Ted, who lived close by.
